Intensely aromatic, 91-point Gewürztraminer from Chile’s Best Value Winery 2021 (Guía Descorchados). Alta Cima 4.090 refers to the height of the Peteroa volcano that overlooks the vineyards from the Andes mountains. Exotic, lightly spiced, yet fresh.
Alta Cima is a family-run boutique winery in Lontué Valley, in the Maule region south of Santiago.
German winemaker Klaus Schröder came to Chile in 1965 and worked in some of the most prestigious wineries such as Errazuriz and Santa Rita.
In 2000, he and his wife Katharina Hanke fulfilled their dream of producing their own wines when they built a modern winery next to their family home.
Their vineyards are filled with Chile's classic grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère), with a little Gewürztraminer - a nod to Klaus’s heritage.
This aromatic grape excels in the Lontué Valley where cold nights and crisp mornings produce wines with pure, fresh flavours.
Exotic lychee and floral notes, it’s delicious to sip solo or with a Thai curry.
