Description

Altos de Rioja is a jewel in Spain’s Rioja district, founded by renowned Château Haut-Brion trained winemaker Jean-Marc Sauboua.

It’s the highest-altitude cellar in the region—and Confrère VIPs have inside access to their flagship red – the luscious Altos R Pigeage Tempranillo 2017.

Take a look what a dazzling red it is! It boasts 3 Golds, a Double Gold, 3 Grand Golds and loads of high points – including 95pts from James Suckling, who calls it“full-bodied and powerful…a rich, layered wine for the vintage.”It’s made from finest, highaltitude Tempranillo grapes, with a 10% touch of fragrant Graciano — all from rare, low-yielding 80-year-old vines. Fermented slowly in open-top wooden fermenters, with three-times-a-day punch down (the Burgundian method known as‘pigeage’), then with 15 months in all-new French oak, this is powerfully rich, layered, and luxuriously decadent.
