The Traditionalist Champion
Château d'Aurilhac Cru Bourgeois 2011Haut-Médoc AOC, France
A lavish Bordeaux from the hallowed Médoc region, “the most famous red wine district in Bordeaux, and possibly the world” (Jancis Robinson). Château d’Aurilhac is tucked away in Saint Seurin de Cadourne, just beyond Saint Estèphe. Its near neighbour is the renowned Château Sociando Mallet. Now 10 years old, this beautifully silky wine shows a gorgeous array of mature fruit and spice and is beautifully mellow and complex. Decant carefully and sip with your finest roast meats.
