Blanc Neuf goes to prove that southern France is home to some serious wine bargains. It may only have a humble IGP label, but a previous vintage was named ‘World’s Best White Blend’ under £11 by Decanter. An exotic, rich style.
If you’re looking for a wine with the richness and complexity of a white Châteauneuf, but at a much more appealing price tag, Blanc Neuf is the perfect choice. Rich, exotic and mouthfilling, it’s a careful blend of Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne courtesy of the Bonfils family, one of the leading names in southern France. With nearly 150 years of local expertise, the family have built a solid reputation for crafting top quality, good value wines. Blanc Neuf is sure proof. Their use of these Rhône varieties produces a rounded, creamy spice and ripe fruit white, reminiscent of a Châteauneuf Blanc. Displaying lively apricot flavours with a hint of hazelnut on the finish, it's richly layered and citrusy. Ideal with creamy chicken or salmon.
You've probably met other fresh, fruity wines from Australia's winemaker Johnny Q. He likes them to have immediate appeal, but also to go the distance. That's certainly true of Caravan – a Sauvignon with grassy freshness and tropical fruit.

Castel del Lago employs Soave’s Garganega with a dash of Chardonnay. From vineyards overlooking beautiful Lake Garda, the grapes are well ripened, adding peach and apricot notes to this beautifully expressive white.
Castel del Lago is an exciting, super-fresh white from Matteo Bernabei. Consultant for pricy top wineries by day, he has his own vines where, by night, he makes this gem. It features Garganega, the key grape of Soave, that naturally lends citrusy freshness. Grown on sloping vineyards that lead down to the lake (the largest in Italy) the grapes ripen really well. All that sunshine is reflected off the water back up to the vines. The soil helps too – stony and well drained, it adds to the fruity intensity. Matteo then blends in a dash of Chardonnay and ages the wine several months on its lees, which lends a delicious creamy weight to the freshness. It's a wine that's ideal on its own or with food, such as prosciutto and melon, fish or salads.
