Il Basso's grapes were sourced from both Romagna and Abruzzo, Romagna being home to the gastronomic delights of Parmesan, Parma ham, prosciutto and rich pasta. Typically its wines have a freshness that complements the cuisine.
Merlot is loved the world over for its velvety smooth fruit, and is the star, of course, in Saint Emilion and Pomerol. The grape isn't native to Italy but, judging by its delectable wines, it's very well suited. In fact it's been grown in parts of the country for years.
A silky, supple blackberry and cherry red - everyone's new favourite! It's made by winemaker Daniele and top consultant Matteo Bernabei. From south of Lake Garda, it's a luscious blend of native Ancellotta and Bordeaux's Petit Verdot.
