But – surprise! It’s not a Chardonnay. It’s a prestige Aligoté you will be so excited to try!
Less than 6% of Burgundy's vineyards are planted to Aligoté, and it’s so popular with the Burgundians that not much of it leaves the area. Fortunately, we have very good connections in France! L'Etrangère was a really special find, and when we tasted it, we knew it was one we had to share.
Meet Alain Pierre, the talented winemaker behind Etrangère. Hailing from a lineage of Burgundian winegrowers since 1620, Alain honed his craft at prestigious estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Bordeaux before returning to his family roots. His mouthwatering Aligoté boasts enchanting notes of nectarine, pear, and blossom on a delicately creamy palate—it’s nothing short of magical.
You can sip it on its own (it’s that delicious!) but it also makes a wonderful partner to your finest chicken, duck, seafood or fish. Try it and see!
For a little more French luxury, why not add a bottle of a fine Loire white to your order here? Les Deux Vallées is a classic, citrus-zipped, dry Chenin Blanc, from a true specialist and the top appellation of Savennières. Lees ageing lends creamy weight to its intense lemon fruit and wonderful stony minerality.
