Silky fruit-filled Alambrado is from Familia Zuccardi, one of the finest cellars in all Argentina. Three times it has been awarded Argentina's 'Top Value Brand' by IWC and head of the family, José Zuccardi, was given a lifetime achievement award by the same competition in 2016.
As well as having state-of-the-art facilities in both Maipó and Ucó, the family are committed to employing the many local families who have served the company from the beginning. He says, "We believe in using people rather than machines whenever possible.” This smooth, fruity red is made purely from Argentina’s flagship grape, Malbec. It’s tasty on its own and very versatile with food: from grilled meats, veggie kebabs, a squash bake or simple sausage and mash.
Originally from Bordeaux, Hervé Fabre is now famous for his award-winning Argentine reds. His wines are indeed admirable, but it is the HJ Fabre GGG Malbec 2019 (GGG is Gran Grande Gualtallary in short) that is really special. A cool, high-altitude region in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, Gualtallary is garnering lots of recognition and a cult following for its amazing reds. On the nose, look forward to complex cherry, slate and dark chocolate – even just the aroma is completely mesmerising! On the palate, discover blueberries, plum, black pepper and oak on a long, layered finish. This is superb – a must-have for lovers of fine Argentine Malbec.

This top-flight Malbec is bold like the people of its homeland, and outlandish like its fine-feathered friend, the Andean Flamingo. Fledging from the high hills of Mendoza it’s bright, juicy and utterly drinkable – don’t miss it.

They’ve been raising quality reds in the chalky clay soils of Cahors since Roman times. The Romans quickly saw that the region’s production surpassed wines they were making in Italy and soon the wines of Cahors were being enjoyed throughout the empire. The region is much older than its famous neighbour, Bordeaux, too.
Today, Cahors is still renowned for the quality of its big, rich Malbec reds, the grape that Argentina made famous. But the French are now reclaiming it. They have learnt how to tame the grape’s inherent tannins and bring out its beautiful black fruit. You’ll discover that with this magnificent Malbec, though it's lost none of its ability to age too. After a decade, the wine is drinking perfectly now, especially with duck.

This is a delightful, fruity rosé made especially for us by Rodolfo (nicknamed Opi) Sadler, chief winemaker at Andean Vineyards. Not only is Opi rated among the Top Ten winemakers in the country, but he also scooped ‘Best Malbec of Argentina’ in 2008 – no small feat as this is the country’s flagship red grape. His regular Malbec has long been a customer favourite, so we asked him to make a deliciously refreshing pink version.
He selected grapes from vineyards high up in Mendoza. They have piercing freshness, and abundant fruit and aroma – perfect for vibrant pinks. Irresistible as a glass solo, Opi Malbec Rosé is surprisingly versatile with food. Try with pea and pancetta risotto, chicken, poached salmon or lightly spiced Asian dishes.
