Add on another Montalcino star at 50% OFF
Here’s another silky Montalcino treasure. However, it’s not Sangiovese, but a ‘Super Tuscan’ Cabernet Merlot made by winemaker Valeria Vittori. In Sarageto, she combines rich, dark Cabernet with a little silky Merlot, ageing the wine in oak barrels. With bright plum and cherry fruit and a lift of wild herbs, this is a very fine, elegant Tuscan red.
James Suckling gives it 91pts: “A tangy and juicy red that has aromas of thyme, currants, sour cherries and licorice. Oranges, too.”
