We’re delighted to introduce a rising star of the Haut-Médoc – Château Malescasse 2020, a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel released ex-château exclusively to us. A wine of pedigree, precision, and rarity, it’s a luxurious addition to your Christmas celebrations. Founded in 1824, Malescasse has long been part of Bordeaux’s rich winemaking heritage. Legend says it narrowly missed the 1855 Classification because a broker drank all the samples! Today, it’s one of just 14 estates awarded the elite Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel status.
Located between Margaux and Saint-Julien, in gravel-rich Lamarque, Malescasse showcases black fruit, minty freshness, and layers of violet and chocolate on a silky, full-bodied palate. Praised by critics — Clive Coates MW calls it “the best Cru Bourgeois of the last 20 years,” Antonio Galloni hails it as “elegance personified,” and James Suckling notes it’s “well-balanced and structured.” A magnificent wine to pair perfectly with beef!
