Classic Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois from a ripe yet fresh Bordeaux vintage
This Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc claret is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot blend. Expect blackcurrant, plum and cedar spice on a structured, medium-bodied palate. A charming Bordeaux to enjoy now or lay down and age.
Château Tour du Haut-Moulin has been family owned since 1870. It’s located in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, close to the iconic Bordeaux appellations of Margaux and St-Julien. A blend of Cabernet and Merlot (with a touch of Petit Verdot), it's aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (30% new). Deep ruby colour and aromas of blackcurrant, plum cedar and spice. On the palate, there’s ripe dark fruit, supple tannins, freshness and a long, elegant finish. The Cru Bourgeois classification designates Bordeaux estates outside the 1855 classification that consistently deliver wines of excellent quality and value. This is one of the top Cru Bourgeois buys. Approachable now, with the potential to age gracefully for a decade or more.
