This Edizione Limitata Barolo comes from a historic estate in Serralunga, one of the top crus in Barolo. 2021 was an exceptional year for Barolo and although delicious now, this will offer sublime drinking for many years to come.

Our Edizione Limitata label is reserved for top-tier Italian wines where we can’t name the source – the estate’s regular customers wouldn’t be thrilled about the price we’re offering.

This Barolo hails from Serralunga – one of the region’s most highly prized crus, renowned for its powerful, structured reds that age beautifully. It’s made by a historic, pioneering winery in Serralunga d’Alba, using pure Nebbiolo from old vines grown at 350 metres altitude.

Aged in barrel for 30 months, it reveals complex aromas of plums, violets, balsamic and spice. Silky and rich, with vibrant red fruit and firm tannins that promise years of graceful ageing.

James Suckling writes “poetically reminiscent of the legendary 1985 vintage … 2021 has secured its place as a modern classic.” And the beauty of this vintage is that it’s not only seriously ageworthy but a joy to drink in its youth. Just make sure you decant for an hour or two in advance to allow the full spectrum of aromas and flavours to unfurl.
