Luca Maroni, one of Italy’s leading wine critics, has awarded Sofia Barbanera’s magnificent Vecciano Super Tuscan a perfect 99/99 points – an achievement it has repeated six vintages in a row. Rich, dark and sumptuous, Vecciano rivals far more expensive Super Tuscans, with long barrel ageing delivering silky tannins, complex vanilla spice and a long, velvety finish.

Gigault is backed by Bordeaux stars Christophe Reboul Salze and renowned winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt. Praised by Robert Parker as “an overachieving wine” and awarded 91 points by James Suckling, the 2014 vintage now shows the complexity and elegance that only mature Bordeaux can offer.
