L'Épiphanie de Saint-Estèphe 2023 12btl

SKU: M1061613

What a coup! Bordeaux’s Saint-Estèphe appellation produces powerful, long-lived reds beloved by connoisseurs. As the 18th century’s Marquis de Ségur of Saint-Estèphe Château Calon-Ségur famously declared, "I make wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart is in Calon."

Which estate does it come from? We can’t tell you!  To protect its luxury brand, the identity remains strictly confidential – not even when it arrives at your door. The payoff? You secure a fine Saint-Estèphe for a fraction of its normal price.

When esteemed estates have surplus wine, they trust us to keep a secret. We bottle their fine wines under our L’Épiphanie label with the promise not to reveal the estate’s name, and you get to try superstar wines at an incredible price.

L’Epiphanie de Saint-Estèphe 2023 is from one of the region’s only two Second Growths. (There are actually no First Growths in St-Estèphe, so this is the top of the tree.) The estate’s 2023 Grand Vin is widely considered the wine of the vintage and sold out completely on release – even though it was over $1,500 a bottle!

L’Épiphanie has all the opulence typical of this powerhouse estate. To be clear, this is not the Grand Vin. But it’s made with the same grapes, from the same vineyard by the same team. Impressive? Most definitely! Exciting? Absolutely. As Robert Parker says, the pleasures of pouring something from a famous château “have a grip and allure that are hard to resist”.

Look forward to seductive aromas of lush dark fruit, violets, cherry and spice. The concentrated palate delivers vibrant cassis, cherry and plum on the long, sensuous, minerally, finish. Winner of Great Gold and 96pts at Catavinum, it’s a sublime example of the lavish Saint-Estèphes from this great estate: velvety, complex and long, with excellent cellaring potential.

This is an unmissable opportunity to secure a case of sensational Saint-Estèphe from a great estate at a truly exceptional price.  Stocks are limited, so don’t miss your chance!

Add-on a James Suckling 90pt velvety 2012 Francs Côtes de Bordeaux at 50% OFF!

The lavish Château La Prade 2012 comes from the boutique Francs Côtes de Bordeaux estate of Nicolas Thienpont, the celebrated winemaker behind Saint-Émilion’s famous Château Pavie Macquin.

Rated 90pts by James Suckling: “Raspberry, blueberry and cedar. Long and stylish”, it gives you Grand Cru Classé winemaking for a fraction of the usual price. At 14 years old, it’s drinking majestically now!
