Step one: take luscious, plummy Merlot from a zero-sulphur Bordeaux vineyard. Step two: blend with intense, jet-black, dark-fruited Malbec from Cahors, the grape's ancient home. Step three: age in barrel for glorious notes of toasty, sweet spice.
We loved the combination so much when we were playing around at the winery that we couldn't resist releasing it for you. Blending regions may be a total no-no for stuffy appellation lawmakers. But it's a HUGE yes-yes for wine drinkers who love rich, smooth, indulgent flavour."
