Meet Burgundy’s new star white grape – pure peach and floral-fresh Aligoté from the Côte Chalonnaise Aligoté used to be regarded as Chardonnay's poorer cousin, but today Burgundy’s winemakers are using it to make some superb whites. In fact, it's the style Burgundians love to drink – so crisp and refreshing. And with warmer temperatures, the grape now ripens to perfection, retaining intense freshness, but with rounder peach notes too. This cuvée is from Laurent Guillot, whose family have been based in Burgundy for generations. Its name pays tribute to his friend and mentor, Robert Ledoux, who had a great passion for the region and a great memory for each vintage and its best cuvées. From the deliciously ripe 2022 vintage, this white is bright and lively. A perfect style to serve as an apéritif and ideal with salmon or white meat dishes.
