Bright, lemony-fresh Chenin Blanc from premium Savennières and former Loire Winemaker of the Year Crisp, citrus-zipped Chenin Blanc crafted by Philippe Socheleau, a former Loire Winemaker of the Year. His family estate lies in premium Savennières, where he has sourced a portion of grapes for this deliciously refresh and lemony white wine. The Socheleau family may be newcomers to winemaking, but they’ve wasted no time making their mark. In 2001, Réne Socheleau and his son Philippe swapped apples for grapes, using the proceeds from selling their orchards to purchase Domaine de Deux Vallées in the Loire. They quickly set about transforming the estate, pulling up the existing Sauvignon and Chardonnay vines to plant Chenin Blanc instead – the signature grape of the Savennières region. Aged for 12 months to lock in freshness and bring out its expressive, fruit-driven character, Equilibrium brims with crisp apple, ripe pear and lemon notes. Serve well chilled and pour generously. A refreshing solo sipper – and a fine match with fish, chicken and spicy dishes.
