This lavish beauty comes from the grand Haut-Médoc estate of Château Bel-Orme, founded in 1750 by the Tronquoy-de-Lalande family and designed by Victor Louis (famous for the Grand Théatre of Bordeaux.) Unusually for a Haut-Médoc, Merlot is dominant (65%), the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, all aged in French oak barrels for up to 14 months. Drinking divinely now, look forward to aromas of rose petal, forest floor and red fruits on a long, lovely, silky palate.
