Nothing else quite matches the sheer, pristine elegance of a truly delicious Chablis from a top-tier estate. Domaine des Malandes is just that – a family we’ve returned to for years. Lyne Marchive and her team make a fine mineral-fresh Chablis.
Lyne Marchive’s 27-hectare domaine is one of the best we’ve found in Chablis and makes some of the most consistently outstanding wines. When she was starting out, Lyne wanted to take a place at wine school in Beaune, but discovering she would be the only girl, she decided to simply learn 'on the job'. She’s assisted by Guénolé Breteaudeau, who grew up in the Loire Valley, itself a hotbed of the purest, linear-fresh French whites. Together they produce absolute classic Chablis, full of the seashell and mineral character that devotees search for, alongside green apple and intense lemon elegance. All fermented in stainless steel, to be sure that fruit and terroir shine through. From a cooler, classic vintage , this is a fine white.
