Bordeaux-style New Zealand red classic from a top Hawke's Bay estate
Hawke's Bay is renowned for producing plush, wonderfully smooth Merlots from its famous gravel soils. This one comes from a top estate whose identity we can't reveal. But we want to shout from the rooftops about its quality and value.
Hawke’s Bay is known for its Bordeaux blends. And that’s especially true of this estate, with a winemaker who’s also made Bordeaux’s famous First Growth – Château Margaux.
2025 is already recognised as a vintage of superior quality within Hawke’s Bay – an early, warm, dry, and very long growing season providing superb ripeness with remarkable aroma and flavour development. Qualities that come to the fore in this wine. A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, this Limited Release is a plush, brooding red packed with dark plums, black cherry, dark chocolate and cocoa spice. Fantastic with cheeses.
