If you’re a fan of luxury Rioja, you’ll no doubt have heard of Bodegas Muga – a very fine estate in the Haro district of Rioja Alta, in the historic heart of Rioja. Founded in 1932, the renowned family winery produces some of the best-quality wines of the region, including their 100-point, flagship Aro red.
So we are thrilled to bring you their superb Muga El Andén de la Estación 2022, a lavish, awarded Crianza, at this very special price today.
Bodegas Muga is steeped in tradition. It creates mouthwatering Spanish wines of authentic character and soul, and even employs its own master cooper and coopers, who make all their vats and oak casks. At the same time, it embraces any modern advancements it sees fit to help enhance the quality of their majestic wines. Indeed, the lovely Crianza Muga El Andén de la Estación here was born from the desire to produce a red with the traditional character of a top class Muga Rioja, but with a youthful, fresh profile that is ready to drink on release.
A blend of 70% Tempranillo from younger vines, with 30% Garnacha adding juicy, floral notes, all aged for 14 months in oak, it comes from the “exceptional quality” 2022 vintage and boasts “dark cherries, spices, ink and a touch of chocolate on the nose. Juicy and slightly chewy on the palate, with a medium body and a medium-long finish…90pts” (James Suckling). Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate calls it “serious despite being approachable” with “notes of cassis, licorice and black berry fruit … a touch of smoke, toast and spice…91pts”.
The wine’s name, ‘El Andén de la Estación,’ translates to ‘The Station Platform’ – noting Bodegas Muga’s prestigious location in Haro’s historic Barrio de la Estación, famed as the birthplace of modern Rioja.
It’s a truly impressive Rioja, and if you’re a lover of fine Spanish wines, it’s a must-have luxury addition to your wine rack – especially at this impressive price!

Albariño is “Spain’s great gift to the wine world” (Robert Parker) and “Spain’s best white by miles” (Matthew Jukes). It reigns supreme in Spain’s legendary Rías Baixas region in Galicia, and in the hearts of white wine lovers everywhere. (Especially in Hong Kong!)
