Le Serret Haut Médoc 2021
Haut-Médoc AOC

Médoc is “the most famous red wine district in Bordeaux, and possibly the world,” (Master of Wine Jancis Robinson). Its wines are highly sought after by connoisseurs, and the finest estates can command thousands of dollars per bottle. Luckily, there are also small producers crafting elegant wines with all the classic Médoc character and flavour, but without the high prices.

Le Serret is a lovely example from the classic 2021 vintage, a year praised by Decanter for its “charm, energy, and … ultimately drinking pleasure”.  Indeed, this is a magic wine that will quickly become the star at any event. Already drinking beautifully, it’s aromatic and evocative, showing supple cassis fruit with notes of cedar and tobacco leaf – the perfect bottle to serve with festive roast meats. Open early if you can and let it breathe to release even more of its pretty fruit flavours.
