Founded in 1824, Malescasse has long been part of Bordeaux’s rich winemaking heritage. Legend suggests it narrowly missed the 1855 Classification because a broker drank all the samples! Today, it’s one of just 14 estates awarded the elite Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel status.
Located between Margaux and Saint-Julien, in gravel-rich Lamarque, Malescasse showcases black fruit, minty freshness, and layers of violet and chocolate on a silky, full-bodied palate. Clive Coates MW calls it “the best Cru Bourgeois of the last 20 years,” Antonio Galloni hails it as “elegance personified,” and James Suckling as “well-balanced and structured.”
