Lustrato Prosecco

Item Code: 4226523

Description

Quintessentially Italian, this Prosecco is filled with soft pear, lemony freshness, and delicate blossom. It’s a Frizzante Prosecco, meaning it has a more gentle sparkle than a Spumante. Refreshingly dry and crisp – pop the bottle and pour!

A dazzling frizzante Prosecco from Italy’s Anselmi family estate. The winery boasts nearly a century of winemaking, combining experience and tradition with an eye on the future. In 1928, Ettore Anselmi bought a plot of land in Verona – 25 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards and orchards. They moved to Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the 1950s, and now boast 250 hectares of vineyards. Today, Ettore’s son Luigi is the winemaker having absorbed his father’s philosophy and passion for the land. It’s a fragrant Prosecco with soft orchard fruit and blossom aromas, and mineral notes. Light and crisp with mouth-caressing bubbles. There’s no need to wait for celebration, it makes a delicious aperitivo enjoyed with crisps and olives.

Low Stock Il Papavero Prosecco NV

Il Papavero Prosecco NV

Item Code: 2129523

Description

Definitive northern Italian fizz with a creamy mousse and delicious fruit. A great Papavero addition.

What’s not to adore about Prosecco? All those sophisticated bubbles, yet brighter, more fruity and affordable than Champagne. Il Papavero Prosecco is the latest addition to our ‘poppy’ range of wines, and already boasts an army of thirsty fans – it’s just so irresistible.

But that should come as no surprise when you consider the heritage of winemaker Scipione Giuliani. This maestro was born in the very heart of the Prosecco region. A true local, he knows all the best winegrowers and went straight to the region's very finest vineyards (usually owned by long-standing friends) to source the fruit for this fine fizz. Just one sip will transport you to a smart Venetian piazza. Great value, delicious taste – chill your bottle down and enjoy.

Low Stock Tosti Moscato d'Asti 2018

Tosti Moscato d'Asti 2018

Item Code: 3759918

Description

Even if you think you’re not a fan of a medium-sweet style of fizz, this is one you must try. It’s full of refreshing bubbly charm with classic Moscato hints of rose petal and grape that makes your mouth water.

It’s a terrific glassful on its own, anytime of the day, perfect with a slice of cake (Madeira or lemon and almond perhaps) or fruity pudding. Moscato is of course the same as France’s Muscat, one of the most aromatic varieties in the world, only challenged to that title by Gewurztraminer! Asti is the finest area of Italy’s Piedmont for the style and we think this is the best we’ve tasted. It’ll bring thoughts of spring to mind whatever the time of year. Embrace the sweetness and freshness – this fizz is a delight. Chill well.

Low Stock Fattoria La Rivolta Simbiosi Rosso 2016

Fattoria La Rivolta Simbiosi Rosso 2016

Item Code: 3947216

Description

Star of Campania, and Basilicata next door, Aglianico is often referred to as the Barolo of the south. It certainly ages as well, beautifully illustrated here with this superb, tiny production, 95 point red, layered with flavour and complexity.

Want a delicious taste of authentic Italy? Enjoy this terrific red from Beneventano, a key appellation within Italy's Campania. The region is centred around the city of Naples, on the shin of Italy's 'boot'. Here white Falaghina and red Aglianico reign supreme. They are two of Italy's finest varieties, truly unique, but little known probably as their wines tend to be quite pricy. They are worth every penny for excitement though. This is a fabulous red from the third generation Coltrone family estate in Torrecuso. They have just 31 hectares of vineyard, all certified organic since 2001. The handpicked grapes from these are carefully vinified in their modern cellar. Simbiosi is their intensely flavoured flagship red. Open early or cellar.

Casa Cantalini Prosecco Spumante

Item Code: 4199524

Description

South of Padua lie the Euganean Hills, known locally as the ‘happy hills’; rightfully so as a centre for Prosecco.

Here volcanic soils lend a flinty minerality to the orchard-fresh flavours of Prosecco. Enjoy a crisp glass of this bubbly spumante.

With Prosecco, you can’t help but smile. It’s the UK’s fizz of choice, and being kind on the pocket, you can drink it whenever the fancy takes you! The Italians do anyhow! This delightful example was sourced from vineyards in the Euganean Hills near Padua. Known locally as the ‘happy hills’, here life is sweet – la vita è dolce! – and vacationers flock to the promise of fun and good wine. These Glera vines grow on volcanic soils which lend crisp minerality to the lively, fruity character of Casa Cantalini. Pop the cork and out fizzes a fragrant ensemble of crisp orchard fruits and flinty freshness. It's a spumante, so it offers a steady stream of bubbles and is very moreish. Don’t wait for a celebration, enjoy a chilled glass any time.

Col Moniér Prosecco NV

Item Code: 4424323

Description

Prosecco continues to be the sparkle of choice, delivering lots of refreshment and value.

From a family estate in Italy’s beautiful, alpine Colli Orientali del Friuli, Col Moniér provides a pleasing creamy mousse and fresh lemon and pear fruit.

Sometimes an occasion just calls out for some extra sparkle. From a cosy night in to a full-swing party or picnic in the garden! With Prosecco there are no rules, just chill down your bottle, pop it open and serve – it’s as delicious and moreish with or without food. Col Moniér is an appetising fizz from the Civa family’s winery in the heart of Colli Orientali del Friuli, in northeast Italy. The vineyards lie between the Alpine foothills and the high plains of Friuli, providing a mosaic of different soils and microclimates. The family’s speciality is Ribolla Gialla, but they also excel with other native varieties including the Prosecco champion, Glera. Chill down your bottle and enjoy a glass any time – on its own or with light antipasti.
