He makes wines with “abundant personality” (Italian Wine Guide Gambero Rosso) that capture the beauty and romance of this famous destination.
Paolo’s estate is situated in the Rufina sub-zone, which Wine Enthusiast describes as “one of the most quality driven zones” and Hugh Johnson as “the most distinctive, making some particularly elegant wines...” High on a hill overlooking the Argomenna valley, Paolo’s land is a prime spot for Sangiovese, placed on a par with Chianti Classico since the 18th century.
Indeed, Paolo has a trophy cabinet packed full of awards for his lavish Tuscan reds, including “outstanding" Chianti buy of the year from Wine Spectator. One taste of this elegant beauty and you’ll see why. Get ready for everything that’s great about classic Chianti: elegant red fruit flavours with a spicy edge and that lovely high-toned freshness the style is renowned for.
Oltrepo Pavese lies in southwest Lombardy, next to Piedmont. Its wine treasures rarely leave Italian shores, so don’t miss your chance to try this velvety 2013 masterpiece from a 13th century castle, rated an impressive 93pts by James Suckling. Made with 100% Barbera and aged in small oak barrels, it shows wonderful black cherry and plums on a silky, yet firm and bewitchingly long palate.

If you’re an Iron Maiden fan (or know someone who is!), make sure you’re first in line to grab this wickedly deep, decadent black red.
And if you’re a fan of lusciously intense Portuguese reds, get in the queue too. This offer is irresistibly good!
This ‘Darkest Red’ is named after a song from Iron Maiden’s 2021 album Senjutsu – The Darkest Hour, made by Portuguese wine royalty, the Van Zeller family. They’ve been making the finest Port since 1620 and these days they also produce classic, powerful and iconic reds. So when Iron Maiden decided they wanted to add a wine to their merch list, they knew who turn to!
The Van Zellers ensured that ‘Darkest Red’ lived up to Iron Maiden’s dream. It’s a black red of immense depth from vines high in Port’s celebrated home, the Douro Valley. It boasts a throbbing bassline of bold black bramble fruit and spicy richness. Deep and dark, with the flavour volume turned up to the max, it really packs a punch.
The bottle is a collector’s item too, with its iconic label and neck tag proclaiming ‘Eddie’s Blend’ in honour of the band’s famous figurehead.
Made at the Lobo de Vasconcelos’s magnificent 17th century estate (it was once the location of the king’s falconry) this is more Portuguese royalty you’ll be glad to pour in your glass. Enjoy these three lavish reds with your Iron Maiden Darkest Red at an amazing 62% OFF!
Gran Reservas are Spain’s most special wines – crafted with painstaking care in only the best vintages and released years later, at their delicious peak.
They must be aged for two years in oak, and then three years in bottle – and they really don’t come into their own until many years after that.
El Bombero has been one of our top selling fan favourites for many years now. Crafted by the legendary Javier Domeque, it’s a big red from Cariñena (not far from Rioja) “home to some of the best value reds in Spain, if not the world” (Decanter). The Gran Reserva is another step up in quality and intensity. And it’s certainly incredible value – especially for you today!
This magnificent red gets its punch from ancient vines, where each grape is a knot of ripe, intense flavour. Mostly Garnacha, with a touch of Tempranillo, it delivers wonderfully evocative flavours of summer berries, plum pudding and spice. And it’s won Gold as well! Now 8 years old, this velvety red is drinking beautifully now. Make sure you secure your case today!
We are sad to say that after nearly half a century of winemaking, Javier Domeque is retiring. This is his farewell (‘despedida’) gift – a super cuvée featuring the very best fruit from pockets across Cariñena. This powerfully concentrated rich red is the ultimate in velvet smoothness, deep raspberry fruit and spice. You may never have the opportunity to try it again, so don’t miss out!

The 2022 produced some "unbelievable wines" (Decanter) and you have three luxury examples here. 2018 and 2020 were exceptional too, as the TRIPLE Gold 2018 Gromel Bel Air and SEVEN Gold 2020 Haut Pougnan show. And then there’s a not-so-recent vintage – an extraordinary 2004 from a very fine St-Émilion estate. Held back for 21 years until its most magnificent drinking peak, it’s beautifully, evocatively mellow – a glorious wine.
