Low Stock Son of Red Shiraz 2022

Son of Red Shiraz 2022

Item Code: 4215222

Description

A new addition to Sam Trimboli’s multi-award-winning list of wines. Inspired by a famous bushranger who stepped into folklore. Mostly Shiraz, it’s bursting with juicy bramble fruits and smoky spice. Bold and moreish.

Australian outlaw, Ned Kelly, is the inspiration behind this striking label. His story inspired another underdog – Sam Trimboli. One of our most popular Aussie winemakers, behind many of our chart-topping wines, Sam wasn't born into a famous winemaking clan or wine region. He just proved his skill through hard grunt and great wines.

Shiraz takes the lead in this fruit-filled red, while a twist of Durif and Saperavi (a native grape to Georgia) adds deep purple hues and soft full tannins. Combined they show off ripe aromas of blackberry, raspberry and cherry, with a hint of gun smoke from a light touch of French and American oak. Seductively smooth as a glass on its own, or a great match with juicy burgers and grilled vegetable kebabszz.

Low Stock Stellenrust Heritage Collection Chenin Blanc 2022

Stellenrust Heritage Collection Chenin Blanc 2022

Item Code: 2477022

Description

From a top family winery, twice winner of the World's Best Chenin Trophy, this intensely fruity white shows all the quality you’d expect from Stellenbosch. Part cask fermented with wild yeast, it’s complex and serious with creamy lemony punch.

If you’re looking for a smart Chenin Blanc with amazing depth, this 2022 is bang on target. Established in 1928, Stellenrust is one of South Africa’s most successful family wineries. But this is much more than just an old school estate. This is a crazy passionate team of young winemakers. Together they work spectacular vineyards, in the heart of the renowned Stellenbosch Golden Triangle, where they produce modern, limit-pushing wines. And Chenin is something of a speciality. Hence two Chenin Trophies.

88% of the old-vine fruit is fermented in stainless steel, while the remainder is put into oak to give a greater degree of complexity. Then five months on lees produces a creamy texture that makes the wine ideal to serve solo, or with chicken.

Low Stock Stonecast Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Stonecast Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Item Code: 4139721

Description

An exciting South African Sauvignon with ravishing mineral freshness, plus the riper fruit notes of the Cape. It's from a winemaker, who's been making world-class Sauvignon at top estates for years and now crafts this fabulous crisp, elegant white.

This is an exceptional, new-release Sauvignon from premium vineyards, just a stone's throw (hence stonecast) from a top winery address! We have a good contact there, the talented maverick winemaker Adam Mason, who sourced finest-quality grapes for this superbly elegant, fresh white. One parcel is from the granite-rich soils of beautiful Franschhoek, the other from the high-altitude mountain slopes of Darling. Both parcels bring an incisive mineral crispness to this dazzling white. Harvesting by hand at dawn and cool fermentation have resulted in this fine, gooseberry fresh white, with creamy weight from lees ageing. Presented in its unique square-shaped bottle, it's a smart dinner party white - great with grilled prawns, salmon or risotto.

Sunday Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Item Code: 0559123

Description

From the New World capital of Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand’s Marlborough. This is a brilliantly fresh, tropical fruit white. Enjoy its grassy aromas and exuberant fruit.

Sunday Bay is a phenomenon. Kiwi Sauvignon is by far our most popular style, and our range is full of standout examples. So it’s a huge statement that Sunday Bay, year after year, is the one our customers rate highest and re-order most. It's made by an award-winning family winery, who were some of the first pioneers of the Marlborough region. Phil and Chris Rose founded the estate back in 1978, now their five children have joined them, so it's very much a family affair.

Their Sunday Bay is a classic Sauvignon. Exuberant grapefruit and grassy nettle character with a bright citrus zip; all the usual Marlborough pizzazz and more. It’s very moreish solo or makes the perfect partner to all sorts of seafood, spicy stir-fry or Thai fish cakes.

Low Stock Tahbilk Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Tahbilk Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Item Code: 3614018

Description

Tahbilk is not only the oldest family-owned wine estate in Victoria (1862), it's also carbon neutral and has a stellar reputation for quality. This cool-climate Cabernet is "terrific value" (Halliday). A leafy, ripe, spicy plum Cabernet that'll age.

In 1920, wine lover Reg Purbrick was offered a glass of brandy from Château Tahbilk. Five years later, he purchased the property unseen! Reg's son Eric inherited his father's love of wine and, during the Great Depression, he gave up a law degree to decamp to Oz and take up the reins at Tahbilk. Three generations later, Hayley Purbrick is in charge of sustainability, while her father, Alistair, runs the estate. They are just one of eight wineries worldwide to be classified carbon neutral. Their 160 hectares of regenerated wetland and native vegetation are beneficial to the climate, as well as offering trails for all to enjoy. This fine, barrel-aged Cabernet is from cool Nagambie Lakes – dark spicy berry fruit with a leafy edge. Decant early.
