There's nothing but praise for this magnificent 96-point (three times) Cabernet from Margaret River's legendary Vasse Felix. Deep cassis, graphite, chocolatey cedar with integrated oak and supple tannins. "Powerfully ripe and dense, epic" (Halliday).
Coonawarra is "the finest red wine region" (Times) in Oz and Jack Burston grows some of its best grapes. He used to sell them to a big, premium brand, but was delighted when RedHeads wanted to bottle them solo. A dark cherry, spice-filled beauty.
In the last four vintages this wine has won a total of five Golds and 93 points. It's a fabulous, rich, oak-aged red from John Quarisa, who blends the herby, liquorice and blackberry punch of Aussie Shiraz with the dark cassis of Cabernet.
