Petit Verdot is used in small amounts in the wines of Bordeaux, where it's added tentatively to add generous tannins and inky depths. In Australia's heat, however, those tannins are tamed and it brings pepper notes and dense fruit flavour to the party. A powerful combination, yet surprisingly this grape remains rare worldwide. Using select parcels of the highest quality Petit Verdot grapes sourced from vineyards across South Australia, it delivers an abundance of red fruit, blueberry and spice flavour. Get out the big glasses for this one, so you can swirl the liquid round. This intensely, rich and meaty beauty pairs very well with roast red meats, hearty root vegetable casserole or a warming lasagne. Decant pour serving if there is time.
