Marlborough is New Zealand’s premier region for brilliant Sauvignon Blanc. It makes wines that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the greatest Loire producers, yet the Kiwi versions tend to be a little more fruit forward and tropical. DK Sauvignon Blanc is named after Dave Knappstein, who comes from a long line of talented winemakers. His great grandfather Joseph was one of the founding fathers of the Australian wine industry, while his father was a winemaker at Penfolds. Now Dave works with old friend (and former flatmate) John Forrest at the acclaimed Forrest Estate.
Champion the small grower with this terrifically fresh and grassy white. It’s from Marlborough, which enjoys a worldwide reputation for herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc. Duck ‘n’ Pheasant is from a cellar that works with individual growers who lack the facilities to produce their own wine, but don’t want to see their precious harvest become an anonymous component of a big brand.
We know how much customers love our Sunday Bay by the sheer number of 5-Star reviews online. Now let us introduce the 6-star special Reserve edition! This is a premium version of this customer favourite. Despite world problems, 2020 was a magnificent vintage, one of the best in recent years. In terms of flavour in your glass, it means even more of Marlborough's classic ‘leap from the glass’ gooseberry, cut grass aromas and generous tropical fruit notes.
Dr John Forrest’s 9.5% Vol Stonewall Sauvignon Blanc was groundbreaking four years back and still leads the field. He found a way to ripen grapes while keeping natural sugar levels (and so alcohol) lower. A tropical fruit, gooseberry fresh triumph.
Mussel Pot is one of our most popular New Zealand Sauvignons. Perhaps that's no surprise, as all the grapes come from a grower renowned for quality. This is the Reserve edition, using the pick of the crop. Even more delicious tropical fruit and zip.
Positioned in the northeastern corner of South Island, Marlborough is one of New Zealand’s most prestigious wine regions. It's known the world over for its intensely aromatic, herbaceous Sauvignon Blancs of arresting quality. Company Bay is from a top cellar there, which had a parcel of surplus fruit in 2020. They were delighted to make us this special tropical and gooseberry crisp cuvée. Their only proviso? That we don’t blow the whistle on them and upset their usual customers.
