Mussel Pot Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most in-demand whites in our cellars right now. As soon as we receive a fresh new delivery, it’s all gone just as quickly!
The Bristed Brothers are a bit of a legend in Marlborough. For one thing, they planted vineyards way before any one else, so these vines are some of the oldest in the region. They are also, at 70, renowned for some crazy capers. They sail boats down the local Taylor river and sometimes take to the sky in their biplane they built themselves! They've been selling their grapes to a famous cellar for years, but were hugely excited about the proposition of having their own name on the label.
In such a short space of time, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc has become a classic. Our first Kiwi producer began to attend our annual Wine Festival in the 1980s and wowed all our customers, winning Wine of the Show every session. They were one of the first successes out there, along with friends down the road, Wairau River. Now we’ve a good handful of friends all over NZ making us world class wines.
