An exuberant, super-fresh white from Chile's remote Elqui Valley. Brisk nights ensure the fabulous crispness of Don Aldo, which combines Pedro Ximénez and Chardonnay in this intensely aromatic, mineral-zipped white.
Decanter said the Maule Valley is "a breath of bracing Andean and Pacific air". Paired with high altitude this makes for ripe, crisp, fruit-filled Sauvignon. Like this Gold-medal white, brimful with bright citrus, fleshy peach and pear notes.
Over 400 kilometers south of Santiago, it's one of Chile's most southerly wine regions. It lies close to the river and receives both plentiful rainfall and early morning fog. Hence there's a real green, grassy edge and citrus freshness.
