Bleasdale Vineyards have been proudly owned by the Potts family for five generations. Founder Frank Potts was born in Hounslow, and joined the Royal Navy at the tender age of 9! He started his career as a powder monkey and travelled the world several times, before settling in South Australia in 1836. Originally a carpenter, in 1850 he spotted a great plot of land near the town of Langhorne Creek. He and his new wife decided to buy it and began farming. Theirs was the first winery of the region.
In 2007, Paul Hotker became their winemaker (Winemaker of the Year in 2018) and since then they've won 60+ Trophies. For 25 years, they've used Cabernet Franc in blends, but here have bottled it solo. Enjoy its crunchy fruit freshness. Serve cool.

When Australia's top cellars need fast, upfront cash they come to our buyer, Dan Parrott. Dan'll keep their name a secret in exchange for a low price on a cracking wine. True for this rich Cabernet with its bold cassis fruit.
If you love premium Aussie reds and are keen on a great deal, our Cleanskin wines are just the ticket. This is from a highly sought-after cellar within South Australia. Home to many of the country's best-known premium regions – Coonawarra, the Barossa, McLaren Vale and more – it has an ideal climate for making bold, ripe, characterful reds, like this one.
This hush hush Cleanskin deal came about thanks to the unnamed cellar slipping our man Dan a word, telling him about a spare parcel of wine that had no home and needed one quick! Delighted to help, Dan snapped it up before anyone else could. Pure Cabernet, it's dark and bold, well-structured and long. For now, it's well worth opening early and decanting. Enjoy with steak or hearty dishes.

In the Outback, Shiraz rules as the most widely planted black grape variety. However, in the Limestone Coast of Coonawarra, Cabernet Sauvignon is king. In this narrow strip of land, famous for its distinctive ‘Terra Rossa’ soil, Cabernet is fruit driven and tobacco-laced with great ageing potential. We reserve our Daisy and the Tambourine Man label for some of the best deals our Aussie Buyer, Dan Parrott, discovers.
This year it’s a terrific Cabernet Shiraz made from low-yielding, old vines. Matured in a combination of new and seasoned oak barrels, it’s a rich and expressive full-bodied red with an abundance of spicy, dark red fruit. Powerful and generous in its youth, it’ll gain complexity over the next few years, if you can resist it!

Australia’s Barossa Shiraz is bold and weighty. For a gorgeous red, turned down just a notch, try Deep River. It's from the cooler, gentle rolling hills of the McLaren Vale, producing here seductive black fruit and liquorice complexity.
Shiraz is the most widely planted grape in the McLaren Vale. Indeed, along with the Barossa, it produces some of Australia’s finest Shiraz. All deliciously ripe black fruits perfectly balanced by a seam of freshness, thanks to cooling coastal winds. We reserve our Deep River label for fabulous one-off parcels our buyer out there, Dan Parrott, gets to hear about and snaps up when the offer is good.
This is a knockout red blended from a trio of exceptional McLaren Vale vineyards. Traditionally fermented, this Shiraz is silky with luscious layers of ripe blackberry, dark cherry and juicy plum fruit, with gentle vanilla spice from oak-ageing. The ideal red to pull out for a Sunday roast, a hearty lasagne or a sizzling steak at summer barbecues.

Wine Advocate is emphatic in its praise for RedHeads winery: "Tour-de-force winemaking. Genius. Must be tasted to be believed." Esulé is a deep, dark seductive Cabernet Sauvignon enriched by aromatic Cabernet Franc, a worthy 90-pointer.
Kilikanoon is famous for its Shiraz. Their top Shiraz costs over $2,500, their ‘Oracle’ Shiraz has twice won ‘Best Shiraz’ at international shows, and Robert Parker himself has noted that Kilikanoon’s “speciality is Shiraz.”
It doesn’t stop there. Robert Parker calls Kilikanoon “the most brilliantly run winery in Australia”, James Halliday awarded it his Winery of the Year in 2013 (“truly the best of the best”) and Wine & Spirits lists it as one of its TOP 100 Wineries. And just last year Kilikanoon took home the award for ‘Best Producer Australia’ at the Mundus Vini Grand International Wine Awards for the 6th year in a row, bringing them to an incredible 8 wins of this coveted international award.
So … if you love the BIG flavours of a lavish Aussie Shiraz, and you want to make sure you’re getting it from the absolute masters of the style, then don’t delay! Add a case of this Kilikanoon Baroota classic to your order today.

Patronus is a beautifully smooth, mellow example of the Barossa’s prized Shiraz from a vineyard tended by the same family for six generations. We initially featured a luscious Grenache Shiraz Mataro from this family, and it flew from our cellars. So when our Buyer got wind of a special single vineyard Shiraz from the same tip-top source, he was on to it like a shot.
Shiraz is very much the hero of Australia’s Barossa Valley. Aussie winemaking legend Peter Lehmann once said “When God created Shiraz, he did so with the Barossa in mind.” Patronus comes from a plot of old vines where the amount of fruit is miserly, but the quality is lavish. The beautifully rounded 2017 has ripe black fruit with a rich wrap of mellow oak. A great steak red.
