Dog Point is one of the top performers of New Zealand's Marlborough. It's the creation of Cloudy Bay’s former viticulturalist and winemaker, Ivan Sutherland and James Healy. Their sumptuous Chardonnay is layered with toasty complexity and ripe fruit.
Superb quality Chardonnay from a dynamic Cape estate near Hermanus in ocean-cooled Walker Bay. Very much a family affair, it’s quickly gained international repute. Lovely crisp apple fruit, minerality and light oak.
Coonawarra may be best known for its deep, minty Cabernets, but Redheads loves to buck the trend. They were out to prove it was spot on for elegant Chardie too. From grower Jack Bursten, Harmonie Rox is bright, lemon fresh and creamy edged.
Finally winemaker Sam Trimboli has taken the plunge and gone out on his own. It seems to be working wonders, judging by the fruity moreishness of this ripe, tasty white. Chardonnay with a splash of Pinot Grigio, it's gorgeously bright and creamy.
