Lavish plum and raspberry, wrapped in cinnamon spice and vanilla oak in this fabulous 94-point Reserva. It's made by the award-winning Castillo Labastida in Rioja, Atlantic and mountain-cooled Alavesa region.
The Manzanos brothers make a range of customer favourite Riojas at their family estate. Then just over the border, into Navarra, they also own vineyards and there make this bright fruit red. All Tempranillo, it is silky with deep berry flavour.
This is a gorgeous mellow Gran Selección from Campo de Borja, using old-vine Garnacha, plus dense Cabernet. Aged for five years in oak, it's gorgeously complex with soft berry spice and savoury length.

Javier works under the radar in Cariñena, where wine has been made for 2,000 years.
