He was born in Friuli, but doesn't come from a long line of winemakers. His dad was a truck driver, but everyone in the village used to have a few rows of vines and, from these, each family used to make a bit of wine.
All this fascinated Alessandro as he was growing up and winemaking became his chosen career. For some years he was president of a local winery but in 2010 he started up on his own and his wines have continued to impress us.
Made with grapes from the region's top areas, this wine delivers delicate pear fruit and crisp minerally ‘zing’.
The 187ml bottle size is perfect for picnics or enjoy a solo glass of an evening.
Vernaccia di San Gimignano from the noble Strozzi family, this is as fresh as can be – racy lime, nutty notes, vibrant citrus and moreish!

Not surprisingly for a dance that’s evolved over a thousand years, the origin of the tarantella is shrouded in mystery. Some say it was devised in Taranto, Puglia, as a cure for the tarantula’s bite (provided victims danced for three days and nights); others say it was an antidote to the morso (bite) d’amor. Less mythical, but equally enchanting, is the origin of its namesake wine.
Discovered by our Buyer in a wild area of bountiful sunshine, ancient vineyards, olive groves and trulli, Tarantella Merlot instantly won over customers with its ripe plum and sweet spice character. Not to mention its enticing value for money! Decant and savour in generous glasses by candlelight with pasta ragù, tender loin of beef and your partner of choice.

Winemaker Dino Taschetta's ambitious new project. A wine made without (w/o) compromise. A delicious berry and cherry-filled Sicilian red, mindfully made. Packaged in 100% recycled glass, it’s aromatic and brimming with bright fruits.
After all, right across Italy Prosecco is the bubbly of choice and as much a part of daily life as gelato or an espresso.
This wine is from northern Italy's Alessandro Gallici. He knows every grape grower worth knowing, every premium vineyard, and has spent his life making outstanding wines.
We first met him when he was head winemaker at a large winery. Every vintage, he'd impress us, but he was also keen to go out on his own.
We were delighted and promised we'd be his first customer. We're still championing his great wines today.
His fizz is beautifully fresh and, served chilled, makes a tasty aperitivo.
