Our old pal at Flagstone, Bruce Jack, called Gerhard Swart "the best winemaker I have ever met" – high praise indeed from someone with a lot of talent himself.
With the 2010 General Smuts Trophy under Gerhard's young belt, Winemaker of the Year in 2017, 5 Stars from John Platter and many other impressive awards, it's perhaps of no surprise. Gerhard's thirst for knowledge means he's always looking for ways to improve and produce something new and exciting. Crush magazine wrote "What makes him truly exceptional is understanding the language of grapes from vineyard to cellar." You can taste that in this fresh, fruity white. A zesty blend of Chardonnay, aromatic Viognier and Chenin, it’s spot on with shellfish, and best of all with lobster.
Our 'Winery of the Year' Journey’s End takes looking after the planet seriously. That means keeping bees happy too. They're behind many of our 5-star wines. This is a gorgeous, velvety Rhône-style blend made with the help of hard working bees.

Critic Jancis Robinson MW was impressed by "the great strides that have been taken in red wine quality" in South Africa. After a tasting, she wrote, "Most of the reds I encountered were really delicious — with fine examples of Cabernet Sauvignon". This ace red is from the De Wet winery in Robertson. It's a 19th-century family estate with extensive plantings of Cabernet (nearly half their vineyards) and count themselves specialists of this grape.
For the Heritage Reserve, winemaker Johann Stemmet searched out the finest, lowest-yield grapes from the limestone soils of this great region. Ageing nearly half the wine in French and American oak has lent a rich layer of spice to the dense notes of cassis. Open early and get the steak sizzling.
If you’re looking for a ‘stand by’ white to keep in your fridge, this is a great choice. Fresh, upfront aromas and brimful with citrus character, it makes a mouthwatering Sauvignon alternative.
The Bruwer family have been crafting wines for nearly a century and current winemaker Jacques boasts three generations of family know-how. Over the years, the team has picked up numerous medals, awards and trophies including ‘Producer of the Year’ at the Winemakers’ Choice Awards.
This crisp Colombard won’t fail to satisfy in the refreshment stakes. Night harvesting ensures optimum crispness while a long, cool fermentation locks in the zingy apple and citrus character.
An ideal glass on its own any time or partner to seafood pasta or Greek salad.
