A taste of Nero di Troia, one of Puglia’s finest grapes. Made by top Italian winemaker Andrea Bernardini, it's a velvety red full of blackberry, violet and smoky vanilla spice.
Top winemaker Andrea Bernardini has discovered just how to get the most from the superb Nero di Troia grape. The result is the deliciously dark, velvety Corsiero. No need to blend Nero di Troia with softer varieties – gently pressed and carefully vinified, it makes a seductive, deeply flavoured, fruit-rich red. Nero di Troia is named after the town of Troia in northern Puglia, said to have been founded by Greek hero Diomedes, famous for helping to defeat the city of Troy in Asia Minor (yes, the grape really is that old!). Just outside Troia, the story goes, Diomedes planted vine cuttings named Nero after the dark colour of the grape skins and the deep-hued wine. Rich, warming Corsiero is perfect with rich pasta dishes, game or hearty stew.

Italy's king of reds, Barolo, doesn't come cheap, especially from a great vintage. All the more reason to leap on this special one-off parcel from prime vineyards in the Cerviano-Merli. Rich, dark chocolate and cherry fruit with silky tannins.
Piedmont's prized red is known for a demanding high price. However, when a winery (sorry we're forbidden to name to keep the price a competitive one for you) is keen to move a batch fast, it usually comes as a great deal, even when it's from such an applauded vintage. Antoni Galloni described it as "full of truly spectacular, breathtaking wines that capture all the pedigree of Barolo". The grapes are from the same hillsides as elite names, including the great Vajra, which worth HK$950 a bottle. Plus, this wine has received 90+ scores from both Robert Parker and James Suckling. It's a mesmerizing wine, long aged in barrel. Decant early to allow the dark chocolatey, cherry and violet notes to open.

Love a luxury Italian wine? Then put your name on the list to reserve for this sublime Tuscan wine – the "best wine ever from here" according to James Suckling, who rates it a stellar 96pts.
Tenuta Prima Pietra was founded in 2002 by Massimo Ferragamo, who searched out the highest land possible (450 metres above sea level) in coastal Tuscany, near the beautiful medieval village of Riparbella, just north of Bolgheri. He wanted his wine to benefit from the purity and freshness gained from the cooler, elevated site, where the sunshine is hot and intense during the day, and temperatures drop sharply at night.
The 100% certified organic vineyards overlooking the sea are comprised of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot, ratios which mirror the portions used in the final ‘Super Tuscan' blend. Hand-picked, each batch was vinified separately, then blended and matured in luxury French oak for 18 months. The end result? This exquisitely rich and lavish wine, boasting 93pts from The Wine Advocate, 95pts from Falstaff Magazine and an impressive 96pts from James Suckling.
"Fabulous red with bright aromas of dark berries, mint, spices and blueberries. Best wine ever from here… 96pts" (James Suckling)
Prima Pietra embodies complexity and elegance, the highest expression of the potential of the terroir. "Elegance, attention to detail and quality, refined simplicity and a love of the land are the hallmarks of Prima Pietra, and pair with my sense of style too," says Massimo Ferragamo. This luxury collector's red, which appears on some of the finest wine lists, is one you must have for your cellar.
