He was born in Friuli, but doesn't come from a long line of winemakers. His dad was a truck driver, but everyone in the village used to have a few rows of vines and, from these, each family used to make a bit of wine.
All this fascinated Alessandro as he was growing up and winemaking became his chosen career. For some years he was president of a local winery but in 2010 he started up on his own and his wines have continued to impress us.
Made with grapes from the region's top areas, this wine delivers delicate pear fruit and crisp minerally ‘zing’.

Top Soave is a revelation – it offers delicately nuanced fruit, creamy body and stony freshness that enable the wines to age gracefully. You find all this and more in this sensational white from local star winemaker Antonio Fattori. Wine Advocate says “his white Soave expressions are the true standouts”. He searches out Garganega grapes from the slopes of Monte Calvarina, the volcanic soils of which lend a bright minerality to the wine. Hand picking is as essential on these steep slopes as it is for quality, while lees stirring in old oak vats lends a creamy roundness and texture to this terrific wine. Delicate apricot with wild herb notes of sage make this an exciting white. Gently chill and serve with fine white meat or fish dishes.

Montepulciano is the top red grape of Italy's Abruzzo, in La Chiamata showing off all its deliciously silky, ripe red fruit and juicy plum charm. It's an easy going, any time sort of wine. This vintage received 90 points.

The talent behind this wine is the now legendary Angelo Maci of the multi-award-winning Cantine Due Palme winery. His wines are always splendid, but he has truly excelled himself with this rare, gorgeously deep and richly fruity Susumaniello.
From an exceptional, sunny vintage and a much sought-after family estate, this is Brunello of superb quality. Wine Advocate called it "ripe and opulent". Dark spice, with hints of chocolate and firm tannins.

Piedmont's prized red is known for a demanding high price. Antoni Galloni described it as "full of truly spectacular, breathtaking wines that capture all the pedigree of Barolo". The grapes are from the same hillsides as elite names, including the great Vajra, which worth HK$950 a bottle. Plus, this wine has received 90+ scores from both Robert Parker and James Suckling. It's a mesmerizing wine, long aged in barrel. Decant early to allow the dark chocolatey, cherry and violet notes to open.
