Low Stock Pink Duck Rosé 2022

Pink Duck Rosé 2022

Item Code: 4098622

Description

We brought you Black Duck, then White Duck, now meet the new Pink. Crisp, citrusy and cherry ripe.

Since the launch of the first Yarrunga Field, Sam Trimboli has been delighting customers with his fabulous wines and winning awards. They don't call him 'Mr Medals' for nothing! Only in the last four years has he set up his own family winery and, in our opinion, is producing even better wines. He has made us the dark, spicy Black Duck from Durif, and the White Chardie Pinot Grigio Duck, but this is just his second foray into the Pink Duck.

Sam is from Italian heritage – his grandfather grew vines in Italy 90 years ago and his parents emigrated to Oz in 1967 – so perhaps it's of no surprise that he has used nearly all Montepulciano here. A splash of Vermentino adds extra lemony zip. A pretty hue, lovely ripe fruit and zesty freshness.

Low Stock Amoras Rosado 2022

Amoras Rosado 2022

Item Code: 0231722

Description

Rosé is a speciality of Portugal and it shows clearly in the ripe berry fruit and refreshing zip of this tasty family-estate pink. Cabernet plus Portugal’s prized Castelão and Camarate combine to make this unique and deliciously vibrant rosado.

If you like dry, bright, berry-fresh rosés, then you'll love Portugal’s new wave rosados. This country cultivates a myriad of exciting red varieties which, when picked early, with lots of refreshing zip, make perfect crisp pinks. Amoras is from a single estate 40km north of Lisbon, Casa Santos Lima, which has been owned by the same family for four generations.

The wine is named after the wild blackberry bushes that frame the vineyards, giving the local wildlife something other than tasty grapes to feed on! For this refreshing rosé, the winemaker selected Portugal’s prized native grapes, plus a portion of deep, blackcurrant Cabernet. It's a tasty drop on its own and ideal with seafood, salads, at a barbecue or with Asian cuisine.

Low Stock Afuera Rosado 2018

Afuera Rosado 2018

Item Code: 4001618

Description

As you might tell from the bright modern label, this is a dazzling fresh, modern style rosado. It's from the small Somontano region, close to the Pyrenees. Cabernet and Merlot, it is brimful of cherry and raspberry fruit with a bright zip of citrus.

New release pink from from the highly experienced winemaker, Jesús Astrain. He's been at Bodegas Pirineos since 1993 and is regarded as one of the finest in the region.

The cellar itself was founded in 1964 and was key to the area gaining its DO status in 1984.

Today, with the grapes from 150 small-time growers, bent on producing high quality grapes from their small, mountainous plots (the area is very close to the Pyrenees), the winery produces a small range of bright, modern wines.

Their rosado is a blend of Cabernet and Merlot, harvested at night, when it's coolest, and fermented at a low temperature to capture maximum mouthwateringly fresh, ripe berry fruit.

Chill it down and serve – great with chicken, prawn risotto, salads.

Field of Stones Marlborough Rosé 2021

Item Code: 4200821

Description

Elegant, fresh pink with delicate summer fruits, a great rosé from New Zealand, at just 9.5% ABV.

Twice 'Winemaker of the Year', Dr John Forrest is one of the greats of Marlborough, famous for pioneering screwcaps, lower alcohol wines and, of course, a range of superb reds, whites and rosés. He's a star with Sauvignon, but also likes to be the first to excel with unusual varieties like Arneis and Grüner Veltliner which compliment the Pinot Noir in this delicate pink. With extensive experience worldwide, daughter Beth is increasingly taking on more of the winemaking.

Field of Stones is a delicious pink, using Pinot Noir, Arneis, Grüner and Chenin, all sourced from a superb, stony Wairau Valley vineyard. This lends a flinty edge to the bright berry fruit and herbal notes of this fine rosé. Perfect with seafood, noodles and on its own.
