Austrian wines are seldom seen outside the country’s borders – which is the only reason that Grüner Veltliner, the nation’s finest white grape, is not better known. This classic example is from a small winery in Krems, a town with eight centuries of winemaking tradition. Founded in 1938 by members of the local Wine Growers Guild, it lies at the heart of the Kremstal region, where clay and limestone soils “imbue the finest Veltliners with a density all of their own” (Jancis Robinson MW).
Hand harvested, the grapes are gently pressed to extract only the most delicate flavours. A classic ‘GrüVe’ with spice and green apple fruit and a white pepper finish, Danaris is ideal with roast pork and apple sauce, grilled fish or spicy Asian cuisine.
Australia’s Barossa Shiraz is bold and weighty. For a gorgeous red, turned down just a notch, try Deep River. It's from the cooler, gentle rolling hills of the McLaren Vale, producing here seductive black fruit and liquorice complexity.

Di Prima shows that can Sicily excel as well with the Rhône's prized red grape. This wine is our latest discovery from Italian island, which is proving one of the most exciting places to make wine. Enjoy its black fruit and chocolatey spice.
The Chopin Brut rosé is a classic, fuller bodied Champagne of fine quality from artisan growers Didier and Karine Chopin. A fruity, toasty Blanc de Noirs style, it has ripe peach and apple, brioche and floral aromas with the tiniest of bubbles.

The Manzanos brothers make a range of customer favourite Riojas at their family estate. Then just over the border, into Navarra, they also own vineyards and there make this bright fruit red. All Tempranillo, it is silky with deep berry flavour.
