Bordeaux-born, Hervé Fabre took off in the 1990s to find a new source of fine wine. He discovered the wealth of old vine Malbec in Argentina and established the now-renowned Fabre Montmayou. In 2017, with his wife Diane, he decided to invest back in France, in Cahors, where fine Malbec originated. Indeed, wines from Cahors were once more prized than claret. He acquired a beautiful estate in Parnac – three properties in fact that took in the high limestone plateau, steep slopes and the valley.
Villa Broglia is a star of Gavi, sipped over the years by diplomats, politicians, even popes. It's from an exceptional family estate with vines in the superior Gavi di Gavi. Savour its creamy pear fruit balanced by piercing lemon freshness.
A fine claret that most years scoops a Gold – this should be no problem for a vintage as good as 2016. Vieux Château Guibeau was the first property Tony Laithwaite ever bought from, so it has a special place in his heart. The wine was the 1966, purchased from the estate’s founder, Henri Bourlon, and we’ve bought 50 vintages since. In those early days, Henri (well ahead of his time) was the first to show Tony that a wine’s quality was as much to do with the passion and skill of the winemaker as the quality of the soil.
Tyrrell’s is one of the most famous family owned wineries in Australia, producing exemplary wines since the mid 19th century. The family can trace their history back to William the Conqueror, but first gained a foothold in Oz in the 1840s. They planted vines in the Hunter Valley in 1848, and built a winery there a decade later. Tyrrell’s are renowned for possibly the finest Semillon in the world, and produce many other wines with legendary status.
For 50 years Julien Bouchard dedicated himself to making some of the finest wines in Burgundy. In 1955, without anyone to leave his winery and vineyards to, he chose Albert Bichot to take on and continue his legacy. A wise choice – Bichot has been rated Burgundy’s best producer of both the region's red and white wines, and a number of their releases have become one of the favourites of our customers.

Silky cherry and smoky tobacco maturity in this fine Sicilian Riserva. It blends a little juicy Cabernet with Nero d’Avola from high old vineyards, lovingly restored following a devastating earthquake. Combines berry intensity and spicy length.
